Powerus secures $22.3 million anti-drone contract for Middle East

American company Powerus has signed a commercial contract valued at approximately $22.3 million to provide a networked anti-drone system for the Middle East. The technology is designed for the detection, tracking, classification, and early warning of unmanned aerial vehicles.

The system will be utilized to protect critical oil and gas infrastructure. According to a company statement, the solution provides a unified operational view through command and control resources, allowing operators to identify and evaluate potential drone threats across an entire area of operation.

The initial phase focuses on enhancing early warning capabilities to support rapid security and operational decision-making. The architecture is also designed to allow for the future integration of Powerus’s Guardian interceptor technology. Brett Velicovich, co-founder and president of Powerus, stated that the contract reflects a global trend toward integrated, networked protection for energy assets in complex environments.
