PowerX to supply 10.0 MWh energy storage system to Tokai Rika

PowerX has received an order from Tokai Rika to install four large-scale energy storage systems, known as ‘Mega Power 2500’, at its headquarters and main factory in Aichi Prefecture. The total nominal capacity of the systems is 10.0 MWh, which is equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of approximately 940 households.

The project, scheduled to begin operations in November 2027, aims to reduce electricity costs through peak cutting and time-shifting purchases. It will also increase the use of renewable energy by utilizing surplus power from solar installations. Additionally, the system will support demand response (DR) to help stabilize the power grid during periods of high demand or renewable energy output fluctuations.

This initiative has been selected for a subsidy program by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry aimed at expanding renewable energy introduction and supporting the installation of power storage systems.
