PowerX upgrades Tokyo EV station to support 240kW high-voltage charging

PowerX has upgraded its EV charging station in Ariake, Tokyo, to support high-voltage charging. The facility can now deliver a maximum output of 240kW with a maximum voltage of 1,000V using its Hypercharger system.

This upgrade utilizes existing battery-type ultra-rapid charging technology, allowing for high-power output even with low-voltage power reception. The company plans to expand this high-voltage capability to approximately 20 locations by the end of 2026, with subsequent nationwide deployment to support the increasing number of premium electric vehicles equipped with high-voltage systems.
