Powiat Tatrzański launches regional promotion at Krakow Airport
Powiat Tatrzański inaugurated the "Kierunek: Małopolska!" programme at Kraków Airport on 8 August. For the next two weeks a mountain‑hut‑styled stall will greet passengers, offering local food, folk music and information about the Tatra region’s attractions. The launch was attended by starosta Andrzej Skupień, mayor of Zakopane Łukasz Filipowicz, representatives of the gminas Kościeliska, Bukowina Tatrzańska, Biały Dunajec and Poronin, and Kraków Airport president Łukasz Strutyński, who said, "Cieszę się, że otwieramy się znowu na Małopolskę i jej bogactwo, a lotnisko może wspierać i promować region." The initiative, timed with the airport’s 30‑year anniversary, aims to boost tourism, cultural awareness and economic cooperation across the Małopolska region.
The collaborative effort highlights a "coopetition" model among local authorities, presenting the Tatra area as a unified brand to international travellers arriving at one of Poland’s busiest air hubs.
