Powys man charged with assault and strangulation in Oswestry

Martyn Langford, 46, of Meifod, Powys, has been charged with three offences following an incident in Oswestry. Langford appeared at Telford Magistrates' Court on August 11.

He faces charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) and intentional strangulation against one woman, both alleged to have occurred on New Year’s Eve. Additionally, he is accused of damaging an internal wall belonging to another woman, valued at under £1,000, on December 31.

Magistrates have referred the case to Shrewsbury Crown Court, where Langford is scheduled to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 8. He has been granted conditional bail, which includes restrictions against contacting the victims and prohibitions from entering specific addresses on Beresford Road and Ferrers Road in Oswestry.
