Poznań-Ławica Airport reports passenger growth and new routes

Poznań-Ławica Airport reported significant passenger growth, serving over 1.06 million travelers during July and August. From the beginning of the year through August, the airport handled 2.9 million passengers, representing a 3% increase compared to the same period last year.

Low-cost carriers were the primary drivers of this growth, accounting for 265,500 passengers in August. Charter flights also saw high activity, with 220,600 passengers traveling to destinations such as Antalya, Hurghada, and Heraklion. Traditional carriers served approximately 49,700 passengers during the month.

Looking ahead, the airport is expanding its network. Wizz Air is launching a new route from Poznań to Basel starting September 21. Additionally, Ryanair plans to expand its Poznań base with a fifth aircraft by the end of October, which is expected to enable new connections to Barcelona and Porto. The airport also aims to increase flight frequencies for popular winter destinations, including daily flights to Rome and increased service to Malta, Alicante, and Malaga.
