Women's K4 kayak teams tie for fourth at World Championships

At the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Poznań, Poland, the women's K4 500m final saw a shared fourth-place finish between the Slovakian and Polish teams. Both crews recorded a time of 1:40.94 minutes. The race was won by China, followed by Spain and Germany, with the bronze medal going to a team that finished over a second ahead of the Slovak and Polish quartets.

The Slovakian team, consisting of Réka Bugár, Sofia Bergendi, Hana Gavorová, and Bianka Sidová, achieved their best-ever result in this category. Coach Eugen Honti noted that the performance was a significant step toward qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, estimating the team is currently at a 60 percent qualification level.

The Polish team included Sandra Ostrowska, Dominika Putto, Julia Olszewska, and Katarzyna Kościółek. Putto expressed pride in the team's progress and hard work despite missing out on a medal.
