Poznań County Council seeks state funding for northeast bypass

The Poznań County Council has issued a formal position supporting the construction of the northeast bypass of Poznań, describing it as a strategic investment for the development and safety of the Wielkopolska region.

The proposed route would connect the S11 road near Suchy Las with the S5 road near Kleszczewo or Iwno, passing through several municipalities including Suchy Las, Pobiedziska, Kostrzyn, Kleszczewo, Czerwonak, and Swarzędz.

Due to the estimated cost of the project—ranging between 1.5 billion and 2.5 billion PLN—the local government has stated that the investment exceeds the financial capabilities of the Poznań County. Consequently, officials are appealing to the state to take over the project and include it in the National Road Construction Program to secure funding from the state budget.
