Poznań launches 'Poznanianki' campaign to honor local women leaders

The city of Poznań has opened nominations for the 2026 "Poznanianki" social campaign, inviting residents to propose women or NGOs that have made significant contributions to the community. Nominations are accepted until 15 September via an online form, with criteria that include promoting tolerance, gender equality, civic engagement and local development.

A panel will select five finalists by 30 September, each receiving a cash award of 7,000 zł. The winners will be showcased during Poznański Tydzień Kobiet, a week‑long series of events from 17 to 25 October, culminating in a gala on 25 October where the honorees are formally recognized. Previous laureates include Maria Sadowska, noted for her work with the Barka Foundation on social‑professional reintegration.

Deputy Mayor Magdalena Pietrusik‑Adamska emphasized the campaign’s aim to highlight "entrepreneurial and courageous women who inspire and lead our community," reinforcing Poznań’s commitment to celebrating local role models.
