Poznań launches youth prevention program addressing addiction and cyberbullying

The eighth edition of the prevention program ‘Poznań uzależniony od profilaktyki’ (Poznań Addicted to Prevention) is launching for schools in Poznań. Aimed at students in grades VII and VIII of primary schools and the first two years of secondary schools, the initiative focuses on preventing risky behaviors related to alcohol, drugs, and other addictions.

The program also addresses modern challenges such as stress management, cyberbullying, internet anonymity, and mental health care. Activities include workshops led by specialists, survival training, and cultural events held at local venues like Muza Cinema and the Musical Theatre.

In a related context regarding digital safety, Professor Pyżalski highlights the various forms of online aggression. This includes one-on-one harassment via SMS or social media, public aggression on forums, and attacks against specific groups based on nationality, religion, or profession. He also noted a trend of exploiting vulnerable individuals, such as filming people in difficult life situations to mock them online.
