Poznań Palm House to undergo major modernization through 2030

The Poznań Palm House will undergo a major modernization project starting in September, with works expected to continue until 2030. The City of Poznań has signed a contract with the contractor to implement the renovation, which is funded by a 163 million PLN loan from the National Recovery Plan (KPO).

The project will be carried out in stages to protect the collection of approximately 1,100 exotic plant species. The first phase involves renovating the entrance area, cafe, and administrative facilities during the autumn and winter. Major structural work, including the replacement of glass panes to improve natural light and energy efficiency, will take place in the spring and summer to avoid exposing plants to low temperatures.

Visitors can expect significant upgrades, including new elevated walkways with observation decks, an amphitheater for educational purposes, and improved accessibility for people with disabilities. The first renovated pavilions, located near Matejki Street, are scheduled to reopen by the end of 2028, while the entire project is slated for completion in 2030. Additionally, the surrounding Wilson Park area will see revitalization, including greenery improvements and water retention solutions.
