Poznań residents protest marathon traffic blockades
Residents of the Lecha estate in Poznań have expressed significant frustration regarding traffic disruptions caused by a local marathon. According to a resident, the event effectively cut the neighborhood off from the rest of the city, as all exit routes were blocked by bollards and barriers.
The resident criticized the organizers for failing to provide viable alternative routes, noting that the suggested detours were impractical and led to drivers using sidewalks and lawns, which damaged local greenery. Complaints were also raised regarding the lack of access to public transport stops and parks during the event. While some sections of the route have since been reopened, the incident has led to accusations that residents are being treated as second-class citizens due to poor event planning.
