Poznań youth group to mark 2029 centennial of 1929 National Exhibition

A youth association of about 30 people, mostly aged 25‑26, is working to raise awareness of the Powszechna Wystawa Krajowa (National Exhibition) held in Poznań in 1929. The exhibition, opened on 16 May 1929 by President Ignacy Mościcki, showcased the new Polish state's achievements in industry, culture, science and society and attracted roughly 4.5 million visitors in 138 days.

The group aims to organise extensive commemorations in 2029, coinciding with other milestones such as the 40th anniversary of the 1989 June elections and the 25th anniversary of Poland’s EU accession. Member Jakub Marciniak said the centennial offers an opportunity to reflect on the country’s progress over the past four decades.
