Pozo Almonte entrepreneur formalizes purchase of fiscal land for recycling business

Nancy Mamani Challapa, an entrepreneur from Pozo Almonte, has officially received the sale decree for a 2,421 square meter fiscal property located in the Poblado Andino sector. Mamani has occupied and leased the land from the state for 12 years to operate a family-run recycling business.

The enterprise exports approximately 26 tons of scrap metal monthly to China and also sends debris to Peru. The business currently employs about five people. The sale of the property was finalized for a value of 1,573.82 UF.

Noelia Garrido, the Seremi of National Assets for Tarapacá, led the site visit to deliver the decree and return the associated guarantee document. Garrido noted that the sale of fiscal properties is applicable when the state determines the land is not required for public services, community projects, or heritage protection.
