Pozzuoli authorities seize two illegal landfills

Authorities in Pozzuoli, including the Municipal Police and the Italian Army, have conducted a major operation against illegal waste dumping. The crackdown resulted in the seizure of two large areas being used as open-air landfills.

The first site, located in the agricultural area of via Pietrarsa, covered approximately 1,000 square meters. Investigators discovered tons of heterogeneous waste, including construction debris, plastics, paper, cardboard, and large bags of foam mattresses. The land is owned by a real estate company based in Pozzuoli, and records indicate the site has been targeted for similar illegal activities in the past. The entire site and the waste have been placed under preventive seizure.
