PPA-CI launches Social Pact initiative in Côte d’Ivoire
The Parti des peuples africains-Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI), led by Laurent Gbagbo, has launched the deployment of its ‘Social Pact’ (Pacte social) in Côte d’Ivoire. The initiative was officially unveiled during a ceremony in Abidjan on October 10, 2026.
Designed to address social fractures within the country, the project is built upon seven pillars derived from Gbagbo’s previous presidential program. Key focus areas include the cost of living, youth employment, and national reconciliation. The party intends for the initiative to be inclusive, targeting all citizens regardless of political affiliation.
Under the plan, designated ambassadors will travel throughout the country to collect public feedback and expectations. This consultation process is scheduled to continue until December 2027. The gathered contributions are intended to be compiled into a ‘white paper’ to be presented and adopted during future assemblies of the Pact.
