DEI Group to install four gas turbine units in Rhodes and Kos

The DEI Group is installing four new gas turbine units with a total capacity of 58 MW at power stations in Rhodes and Kos to enhance energy self-sufficiency and supply security. The project involves four Titan 130 units, each with a nominal capacity of 14.5 MW and an efficiency of 33%-34%.

Work has already begun on two units at the Soroni station in Rhodes, while installation at the Kos station is expected to start in October. The new units are scheduled to become operational by the summer of 2027. These dual-fuel units feature SoLoNOx technology to limit nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide emissions without requiring water injection.

Designed for flexibility, the units can reach full capacity in approximately 10 minutes, allowing them to respond rapidly to changes in electricity demand. The transition from heavy fuel oil (HFO) to diesel (LFO), combined with advanced emission control systems, is intended to reduce the environmental footprint of the stations. Noise levels are expected to remain below 65 dB at the station boundaries.
