PPC introduces new fixed electricity tariffs in Greece

Public Power Corporation (PPC) has introduced a new fixed-rate electricity tariff for households in Greece, set at 0.115 EUR per kWh with a monthly fixed charge of 3.5 EUR. This pricing strategy, branded as 'myHome Online', has significantly impacted the competitive landscape, forcing other providers to adjust their offers. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has highlighted this plan as a solution to energy costs.

In addition to PPC's move, September electricity rates for various providers show mixed trends. PPC's green tariff for consumption up to 200 kWh rose to approximately 14.913 cents/kWh, an increase of about 7.7% from August. Other providers like Enerwave and Volton also reported increases of around 7% to 10% for certain tiers. Conversely, Zenith reported a decrease in its rate for the first 100 kWh of consumption, dropping to 19.5 cents/kWh from 23.836 cents/kWh in August.
