PPC negotiates acquisition of Romanian retailer Flanco

Greek energy giant PPC is in negotiations to acquire Flanco, a major Romanian retailer of electronics and household appliances. The deal, which is currently in the discussion phase, could grant PPC access to Flanco’s network of over 160 stores across more than 110 Romanian cities and approximately 1,400 employees.

The acquisition is part of a strategic move to transform retail locations into integrated energy hubs. Following a similar model used in Greece with the acquisition of Kotsovolos, PPC aims to offer customers a combined package of energy supply, solar panels, heat pumps, energy storage batteries, and electric vehicle charging stations alongside consumer electronics.

Flanco, owned primarily by entrepreneur Iulian Stanciu, has faced financial challenges, reporting a turnover of approximately 275 million euros in 2025 alongside losses of nearly 13 million euros. While negotiations are ongoing, no final agreement has been signed.
