PPC to acquire ABO Energy subsidiaries in Poland and Hungary

ABO Energy has reached an agreement to sell its subsidiaries in Poland and Hungary to the Greek integrated energy group PPC. The deal includes the transfer of 38 employees and a substantial renewable energy portfolio.

The acquired assets consist of a project pipeline with a total capacity of approximately 2 GW in various stages of development, alongside five operational solar parks totaling 82 MW and a 17 MW solar park nearing commissioning. The portfolio features technological and geographical diversification, including solar, wind, and battery storage projects.

For ABO Energy, the sale follows previous divestments of its Greek subsidiary and a portion of its Finnish wind pipeline, as part of a strategy to focus on markets where the company can achieve long-term economic success. The company aims to finalize a sustainable restructuring and financing concept in the coming months. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year, pending regulatory approval.
