PPCS demands infrastructure investment for Castelló
The People's Party of Castelló (PPCS) is demanding the execution of long-delayed infrastructure projects in the Castelló province, accusing the central government led by Pedro Sánchez of neglect.
Key demands include the completion of three AP-7 highway access points for Vinaròs, Vila-real, and Benicàssim. These projects were classified as urgent in 2018 but remain unexecuted. Officials note that the lack of service areas for trucks has led to safety risks, with 20% of traffic accidents in Castelló occurring on the AP-7, often involving vehicles parked in deceleration or acceleration lanes due to a lack of rest areas.
Additionally, the PPCS is calling for the implementation of the Mediterranean Corridor, an infrastructure project requiring an investment of 21.8 million euros. They argue this corridor is vital for the region's economic development and logistics. Other requested improvements include 10 million euros for the Rodalia commuter rail network and specific upgrades to the Borriana train station.
