Öppet Varv boat show returns to Orust with over 170 vessels
The 33rd annual Öppet Varv boat show is taking place from August 21–23 in Ellös on the island of Orust, Sweden. Organized by Hallberg-Rassy Varv AB in collaboration with Orust municipality, the event is considered Scandinavia’s largest sailing boat fair and the largest boat show in western Sweden.
This year’s exhibition features over 170 registered boats, a significant increase from the 127 boats displayed last year. The showcase includes 58 new boats ranging from 9 to 69 feet, including 30 motorboats and 28 sailboats, as well as 21 boats currently under construction. Visitors can observe active boatbuilding processes within the shipyard during the event.
Highlights include the world premiere of the Hallberg-Rassy 44 Mk II, which features 30 improvements over its predecessor, and the Gottskärssnipan. Other notable vessels include the Targa 37, Saga 355, and Nordkapp Airborne 5. Additionally, Orust Marin Center AB is participating with 43 boats in Henån, and RS Sailing Sweden is offering sailing demonstrations with European champion Aron Wärnberg.
