PPGSBIO Academic Journey to debate health and biodiversity in Boa Vista

The Graduate Program in Health and Biodiversity (PPGSBIO) is hosting its 5th Academic Journey in Boa Vista from September 16 to 18. Held at the Health Sciences Center (CSS), the event focuses on the theme “Health, Biodiversity and Quality of Life: Innovation, Research and Public Policies.”

The gathering aims to bridge the gap between scientific production and social demands, particularly within the Amazonian context. The program includes lectures, roundtables, short courses, and scientific presentations designed to address contemporary challenges in health and the environment.

A notable highlight of the event is a roundtable discussion regarding weight loss and muscle mass during treatment with Mounjaro (tirzepatide). Experts will discuss the importance of maintaining muscle mass during pharmacological weight management to ensure metabolic and functional health.
