PPL Electric rolls out summer Bill Toolkit and restores power after July 4 storms

PPL Electric Utilities, serving about 1.5 million customers across eastern and central Pennsylvania, announced a summer outreach campaign on June 29 2026. The “Bill Toolkit” offers a suite of resources—including budget billing, real‑time alerts, an Energy Analyzer, payment assistance programs such as OnTrack and Operation HELP, and free virtual home assessments—to help households and businesses monitor usage, manage payments and lower energy costs. The program is open to all customers, regardless of income.

During the July 4 weekend a series of severe storms with winds up to 65 mph knocked out power for more than 210,000 customers. PPL deployed over 2,000 personnel, including crews from mutual‑assistance partners, to restore service around the clock. The utility described the event as one of its ten most impactful storms, emphasizing safety tips such as avoiding downed wires, using generators outdoors, and checking on vulnerable neighbors. Restoration updates were posted on the company’s outage map, and crews continued full‑scale repair efforts into the following week.
