PPL Electric offers EV drivers annual rewards for off-peak charging

PPL Electric Utilities has introduced two voluntary programs designed to reward electric vehicle (EV) owners for charging during periods of lower grid demand. These initiatives, launched in conjunction with National Drive Electric Month, aim to reduce strain on the electric infrastructure by shifting charging activities away from peak usage times.

Eligible residential customers can choose between two distinct approaches: the Optimized EV Charging program or the EV Off-Peak Rewards Program. These options allow drivers to either automatically adjust their charging schedules or manually manage their own charging times, ensuring they maintain control over their vehicle's readiness while earning up to $120 annually in rewards.
