PPRC faces scrutiny over All People’s Congress internal disputes

The Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) is facing scrutiny regarding its management of internal and constitutional disputes within the All People’s Congress (APC). The controversy centers on whether the Commission effectively enforces compliance with the APC’s own constitution.

Dr. Richard Konteh, an APC flagbearer aspirant, criticized the PPRC, stating that earlier intervention to ensure respect for the party constitution in February could have prevented the current escalation of the crisis. The situation has sparked a broader debate regarding the PPRC’s regulatory effectiveness, political neutrality, and its ability to safeguard democratic processes within political parties.

As the APC deals with internal divisions, questions have also been raised about the party’s cohesion and its ability to compete against the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
