PPS party proposes economic reforms for Moroccan SMEs
The Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) has responded to a memorandum from the Moroccan Confederation of Very Small, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (TPE-PME) regarding the upcoming 2026 elections. The party expressed agreement with the Confederation's diagnosis of the structural difficulties facing these businesses, including limited access to bank financing and public procurement, high tax pressure, and competition from the informal economy.
In its 2027-2031 government program, the PPS proposes several measures to support the sector. Fiscal proposals include reducing corporate income tax to 10% for small businesses with profits under 500,000 DH, reforming VAT refunds, and revising professional taxes. The party also aims to reduce the number of taxes and appoint regional tax mediators to resolve disputes. To improve financing, the PPS suggests strengthening access to credit and creating a public investment bank, ‘BPI Maroc’.
