Prabowo-Gibran approval ratings drop to 37 percent amid economic pressure
Public satisfaction with the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has dropped significantly to 37 percent as of August 2026, according to a national survey by Tempo Data Science. This represents a sharp decline from 75 percent in December 2025 and 58 percent in March 2026. The decline is primarily attributed to negative perceptions regarding daily economic conditions.
The survey, conducted between July 31 and August 11, 2026, among 1,260 respondents across 38 provinces, shows dissatisfaction is particularly high in regions such as Banten (76 percent) and DKI Jakarta (73 percent), as well as among the 26–30 age demographic (74 percent).
In terms of future leadership simulations, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi emerged as a leading figure. In a name simulation, Mulyadi secured 42 percent, significantly ahead of Prabowo Subianto at 15 percent, Anies Baswedan at 10 percent, and Gibran Rakabuming Raka at 6 percent. Mulyadi also led in open-ended questions with 41 percent and in top-of-mind recall with 30 percent.
