Prabowo Subianto shows close ties with Jokowi during Indonesia's 81st Independence Day

During the 81st Independence Day celebrations at Istana Merdeka, President Prabowo Subianto displayed a close relationship with former President Joko Widodo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The three leaders were seen sitting together, sharing laughter and conversation during the aerial demonstrations. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi noted that the seating arrangement was situational to show respect to former leaders and emphasized the long-standing friendship between Prabowo and Jokowi.

The celebrations also featured a high-altitude skydiving performance by Kopassus paratroopers, who unfurled a large banner featuring President Prabowo's image. Prasetyo explained that this gesture was a form of gratitude from the TNI for the military equipment upgrades initiated during Prabowo's tenure as Defense Minister.

Separately, political observers have speculated on potential cabinet reshuffles, suggesting that Prabowo may have communicated with Jokowi regarding changes to key positions, including the potential replacement of officials such as Pratikno and General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
