Prabowo Subianto reshuffles Red and White Cabinet and announces aid programs

President Prabowo Subianto has conducted a major reshuffle of the Red and White Cabinet, marking the seventh reorganization since taking office in October 2024. The changes involve several strategic positions, including the appointment of new coordinating ministers, ministers, and deputy ministers.

Key appointments include Dudung Abdurachman as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, replacing his previous role as Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP). Listyo Sigit Prabowo has been appointed as the new Head of the KSP and was also awarded the Bintang Mahaputera honor. Bahlil Lahadalia will serve as the Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition while simultaneously retaining his position as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. Other notable changes include Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Sugiono as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

In addition to the cabinet changes, the government is preparing three major assistance programs for the fourth quarter of 2026. These include a food assistance program providing 10 kilograms of rice per family to approximately 33.2 million beneficiary families in deciles 1 through 4, with an estimated budget of Rp17.5 trillion. Other planned programs involve opening bank accounts for citizens over 17 years old in the same deciles and providing wage subsidies.
