Prabowo launches US$10.2 billion industrial projects in Halmahera
President Prabowo Subianto has launched 11 industrial downstreaming projects at the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) in Central Halmahera, North Maluku. The projects, valued at approximately US$10.2 billion (Rp180 trillion), include the inaugural export of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. Of the 11 projects, four are entering commercial operations while seven are new constructions. Realized investment in the IWIP area has reached US$20 billion, with plans for a further US$7 billion expansion.
In a separate event at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, President Prabowo held a briefing for 800 senior officers from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri). The briefing focused on strengthening institutional synergy and addressing emerging strategic threats, including cyber, information, and hybrid warfare. The President emphasized the importance of maintaining public trust and ensuring security forces prioritize citizen welfare.
Additionally, it was announced that ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet will receive Maung Garuda official vehicles produced by PT Pindad.
