Prabowo Subianto distributes electric rickshaws to elderly drivers

President Prabowo Subianto has initiated the distribution of electric rickshaws, manufactured by PT Pindad, to support elderly drivers in West Java. The initiative aims to improve the welfare and productivity of rickshaw pullers, particularly those over 50 or 55 years of age, by reducing the physical labor required for their livelihood.

In Tasikmalaya, 220 electric units were distributed through the Yayasan Gerakan Solidaritas Nasional (YGSN). Local officials have committed to facilitating charging infrastructure and coordinating with authorities to ensure driver safety and ease of access to electricity.

In Kuningan, 200 electric rickshaws were also handed over to local drivers. These units are initially targeted for use in flat areas and tourist locations to maximize efficiency. The program is viewed as a step toward energy efficiency and modernizing traditional transportation while supporting the local economy.
