Prabowo Subianto faces economic policy calls amid 63% satisfaction rate

An Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) survey shows that 63 percent of the public is satisfied with President Prabowo Subianto's performance, while 35 percent expressed dissatisfaction. Key drivers for positive perception include the free nutritious meal project (MBG), anti-corruption efforts, and the provision of social assistance.

Regarding economic objectives, experts suggest that achieving President Prabowo's campaign promise of 7-8 percent economic growth will require a significant policy shift. Prof. Didik J. Rachbini of the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) noted that the current reliance on domestic consumption and markets may only sustain moderate growth. To reach higher targets similar to those seen in Vietnam, he argued that Indonesia must transition its economic orientation from "inward looking to outward looking."
