President Prabowo Subianto Announces Wide‑Range Economic and Governance Reforms in Indonesia

President Prabowo Subianto outlined a series of policy initiatives aimed at accelerating economic growth, improving public services and tightening export governance. The Housing and Settlement Ministry announced plans to simplify the land‑ownership documentation required for the Bantuan Stimulan Perumahan Swadaya (BSPS) program, allowing applicants to prove land possession with a village‑head certificate instead of formal titles.

A new state‑owned enterprise, PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI), will centralise the export of strategic commodities such as coal, palm oil and ferro‑alloys and manage foreign‑exchange receipts, with a soft launch of its integrated export‑governance system slated for September 2026. The administration also pushed forward the Single National Identity Card to streamline digital public services and improve social‑assistance targeting through the Integrated Digital Identity (IKD) system.

Additional announcements included a stimulus package of roughly Rp 96 trillion for the first half of 2026, a projected 5.6 % Q1 GDP growth, and a target of Rp 1 000 trillion in cumulative investment by mid‑year. The government highlighted 93 hydrogen projects worth Rp 32 trillion, a plan to boost domestic gas production by 150 % within five years, and the establishment of a national electric‑motor factory. Indonesia’s digital education platform received a top award from the UN‑affiliated International Telecommunication Union, underscoring the broader digital‑government push.
