Practical Magic 2 sequel details and cast updates

The sequel to the 1998 film ‘Practical Magic’ is scheduled for release on September 10. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman will reprise their roles as Sally and Gillian Owens, alongside returning cast members Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing.

The new installment expands the Owens family lineage with a younger generation, featuring Joey King, Maisie Williams, and Xolo Maridueña. The plot continues to explore the unresolved family curse regarding the romantic lives of the Owens women.

Original cast member Evan Rachel Wood addressed her absence from the sequel, noting that the film appears to be taking a different narrative direction than the original book. Wood expressed sadness over missing the opportunity to reunite with the original cast but offered her support to the new cast members, including Joey King.
