Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reunite for Practical Magic 2

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are reuniting to reprise their roles as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens in Practical Magic 2. The sequel is scheduled for a theatrical release around September 9-10, 2026.

For the lead actresses, the project serves as a reconciliation with the legacy of the 1998 original. Bullock noted that the first film's press tour was “brutal” and that she had previously harbored “so much shame” due to the mixed critical reception. She attributed the film's eventual cult status to a societal shift in the perception of the word “witch.”

Production efforts for the sequel included a detailed reconstruction of the iconic Owens house on a London backlot, utilizing over 4,000 plants and 52 trees to recreate the original atmosphere. The cast features returning actors Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing, alongside new stars Joey King and Maisie Williams.
