Practical methods for stump decomposition and tick prevention
Effective methods for managing garden maintenance and personal health safety include biological stump decomposition and proven tick repellents.
To remove tree stumps without heavy machinery, one can use a combination of baking soda and vinegar to weaken the wood structure. This process is followed by applying a biological preparation containing Phlebiopsis gigantea mycelium, which initiates deep microbiological degradation. Over several months to a year, the stump and root system will rot and decompose directly into the soil.
Regarding tick prevention, experts suggest using products containing DEET (diethyltoluamide) rather than relying on essential oils like clove oil, which are often ineffective in open spaces. Products with a 20-30% DEET concentration provide 86-92% protection for 4-7 hours. For maximum efficacy, the repellent should be applied evenly to clothing and shoes, and reapplied after intense physical activity.
