Milan Fashion Week showcases SS27 collections from Gucci, Prada, and Ferragamo
Milan Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2027 season showcased diverse creative directions from major luxury houses. Gucci, under creative director Demna, presented ‘The Store Show,’ a collection described as ‘luxury that wants to be seen,’ blending aristocracy with pop culture through monochromatic environments and classical sculptural references.
Prada emphasized the importance of the knee-length skirt, featuring deconstructed designs with crystal embroidery and organza layering. Other notable presentations included Ferragamo, where Maximilian Davis showcased a mix of military-inspired tailoring and fluid draping, and Ermanno Scervino, which focused on ‘Made in Italy’ craftsmanship using nautical materials like sail linen and nappa leather.
Additional highlights included MSGM’s colorful, optimistic menswear inspired by Dante, and Zifei Wang’s collection inspired by Taoist philosophy. The week also featured independent couture through the ‘The New Wave’ event and highlighted emerging trends such as sheer fabrics, tactile maximalism, and a departure from minimalism.
