Prada San Martín named Spain's best Godello in SEVI 2026 Guide
The 2026 SEVI (Semana Vitivinícola) Wine Guide has named Prada San Martín the best Godello wine in Spain. The organic white wine, produced at the Palacio de Canedo, received a score of 96 points, surpassing 23 other selected Godello references.
Categorized as a 'Vino de Paraje', the wine is made exclusively from grapes grown in the specific plot that gives it its name. The production process involves aging the wine for one year in 500-liter oak casks, followed by at least two years of cellar aging before commercialization. Tasters described the wine as fleshy with balsamic and bitter toasted notes and excellent acidity.
In addition to the top honor, the winery received high marks for two other organic Godellos from the Bierzo Denomination of Origin: El Prada Godello 2025 and Godello 170 Miedros, which both earned 93 points.
