Praga Bohema reportedly sets new lap record at Spa-Francorchamps
The Czech hypercar manufacturer Praga has reportedly set a new lap time at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium using its road-legal Bohema model. During a Curbstone track day, development driver Aleš Jirásek completed a lap in 2 minutes and 21.42 seconds using standard street tires.
If officially verified, this time would surpass the previous record held by the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC, which clocked 2 minutes and 23.081 seconds in September 2020. The Bohema's performance is attributed to its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, producing approximately 700 hp, and a lightweight design with a curb weight of less than 998 kilograms.
Praga has noted that the lap was not an intentional attempt to break the record, as the driver was participating in a session with customers. As of now, the time awaits independent verification from the circuit or official track timing sheets to be formally recognized as a record.
