Prague advances residential development and senior housing projects
Prague is undergoing significant urban changes involving both residential development and social infrastructure. Under a new Metropolitan Plan, residential buildings are slated for construction on part of the Šutka sports area in the Troja and Kobylisy districts. The investor, Landia Management, plans to relocate existing tennis and padel courts to an adjacent plot. Local residents and community groups have expressed concerns regarding increased traffic on narrow streets and the loss of green space.
In a separate development, the City of Prague has signed a 950 million CZK contract with the construction firm Konsit to reconstruct three historic buildings in Šolínová Street, Prague 6. The project will transform these abandoned structures into the Eliška Purkyňová Senior Home, providing 99 beds, 69 rooms, a cafe, and rehabilitation facilities. The reconstruction is expected to be completed by 2028, focusing on modernizing the historic buildings to meet contemporary social service requirements.
