Prague Airport CEO resigns amid audit and contract disputes
Radomír Lašák has resigned from his position as Chairman of the Board of Prague Airport after less than three months in office. While the Ministry of Finance cited personal reasons for his departure, reports suggest his exit followed internal conflicts regarding major financial decisions.
Lašák reportedly resisted signing five-year concessions for aviation fuel supplies and infrastructure use, valued at approximately 45 billion CZK, without a thorough review. He had also initiated a forensic audit into the airport's management. Preliminary findings from this audit revealed that between 2022 and July 2024, the airport awarded 267 contracts worth roughly 780 million CZK without a competitive tender process. Additionally, other contracts totaling 3.37 billion CZK involved only a single bidder or direct supplier selection.
Finance Minister Alena Schillerová confirmed that the forensic audit has been suspended pending the evaluation of its first phase. The supervisory board is expected to review the media reports surrounding the leadership transition.
