Václav Havel Airport removes father of two after terrorist joke, ending family’s vacation

At Terminal 1 of Prague’s Václav Havel Airport a man traveling with his two children was stopped after security staff found his powerbank exceeded the allowed limits. When warned, the passenger replied irritably, declaring “I am a terrorist.” Czech foreign‑police spokesman Josef Urban said that any mention of bomb‑related terms triggers immediate security protocols. Police and bomb‑squad (pyrotechnic) units were dispatched, inspected the man and his luggage, and found no threat. The airline then barred the passenger and his children from boarding the flight to Istanbul, forcing the family to leave the airport under police escort and miss their planned holiday.

The incident highlights strict airport security procedures and the consequences of inappropriate remarks in the screening area.
