Prague Airport to expand Terminal 1 border control capacity

Prague Václav Havel Airport, in collaboration with the Police of the Czech Republic, will expand and modernize the arrival border control area in Terminal 1. The project aims to increase capacity during peak operational hours and reduce passenger waiting times, a need highlighted by the implementation of the European Entry/Exit System.

The modernization includes the addition of five new passport booths and four EasyGoGate (EGG) self-service gates. The project also involves expanding the passenger waiting area and upgrading the entire ventilation system within the passport control zone.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the first half of September 2026, with completion expected by the end of April 2027. The total investment cost, covering construction, engineering, project management, and technical supervision, is estimated to be up to 290 million CZK.
