Prague allocates 2.2 billion CZK for social, health and community projects

The Prague municipal council approved a budget of more than 2.2 billion Czech crowns for a wide range of social services and healthcare initiatives in 2026. Funding will support hundreds of programmes, including personal assistance, senior care, protected housing, hospice care and specialised therapies for children with complex needs. The health‑related subsidies total about 70.8 million crowns and cover preventive care, mobile palliative services and public health education.

In the city’s Prague 10 district, the “Zásobník projektů – partnerství pro Prahu 10” competition awarded 713 000 crowns to 29 locally‑originated community projects. Each winning proposal can receive up to 50 000 crowns to improve public spaces, organise neighbourhood events, run workshops or other civic activities.

Both funding streams aim to strengthen the city’s social safety net, increase accessibility of health services and encourage citizen‑led improvements to neighbourhoods.
