Prague approves street renaming and e-mobility lighting upgrades
The Prague City Council has approved several administrative and infrastructure updates for the capital. The council has authorized the naming and renaming of various public spaces, including 22 entirely new streets and one existing unnamed street. Changes will affect multiple districts, including Prague 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 13, 14, Kunratice, and Libuš. Notable changes include the naming of Na Sommě street in Prague 6 and Libuše Havelková Square in Prague 9.
In addition to urban naming, the city is extending its public lighting modernization project to support e-mobility. The council approved the extension of key contracts until the end of 2028 to allow for the integration of electric vehicle charging capabilities into the street lighting network. This synergy project aims to coordinate lighting upgrades with the modernization of the distribution network to minimize road surface disruptions and improve efficiency.
