Prague expands cycling network to 550 kilometers

Prague has expanded its cycling infrastructure, bringing the total length of marked cycling routes to approximately 550 kilometers. According to the Technical Road Administration (TSK), the city added 18 kilometers of routes separated from motor traffic, including a significant increase in two-way cycling lanes which grew from 63 to 81 kilometers.

While automatic counters recorded roughly 5.6 million bicycle passages—a raw decrease of about 1 percent compared to the previous year—the TSK reported a 0.4 percent increase in cycling traffic after adjusting for counter failures and temporary route closures.

The busiest cycling route was recorded in Modřany at the intersection of Vltavanů and U Kino streets, with 578,016 passages. Other high-traffic areas included Povltavská Street and the Barrandov Bridge, which saw an increase in traffic following its reconstruction.
