Prague introduces renovated retro Tatra T3 trams to Line 23

The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) is introducing renovated historical Tatra T3 trams to its nostalgic Line 23. Starting Saturday, August 22, 2026, passengers can ride vehicle 6312, which has been restored to its 1975 appearance. Originally manufactured in 1964, this specific car underwent an extensive renovation in Brno to ensure it is a fully functional vehicle for regular passenger service rather than a static museum piece.

In addition to vehicle 6312, which features red faux-leather seats and unique window cladding, vehicle 7122 will also operate on the line. While 6312 represents the early 1970s, 7122 is designed to reflect the latter half of the decade with laminate seating and wood-imitation wall paneling. The DPP aims to provide a diverse fleet on Line 23, with three more vehicles currently undergoing repairs to be deployed by 2028.

Line 23 runs from Královka through Prague Castle, Malostranské náměstí, and Národní divadlo to Zvonařka. It operates every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 7.5 minutes on weekends, accepting standard Prague integrated transport fares.
