Prague military exercise tests protection of Flora water reservoir
The SafeGuard HMP 2026 military exercise was conducted at the Flora water reservoir in Prague to test the protection of critical water infrastructure. The drill involved the Prague Water and Sewerage (PVK) company, the military, police, and the Integrated Rescue System.
The exercise focused on coordinating command structures, information flow, and communication channels between the Prague City Hall, the army, and emergency services. It specifically tested the ability of soldiers to maneuver through dense urban environments and the effectiveness of multi-level security systems, which combine mechanical and electronic elements.
The Flora reservoir supplies over 16,000 customers across the Prague 2, 3, and 10 districts. The 111th Territorial Defense Battalion, part of the Regional Military Command for Prague, participated in the drills. Officials noted that such exercises are essential in the current security climate to ensure preparedness against potential threats to drinking water supplies.
