Prague music festivals announce major anniversary programs

Prague will host significant musical celebrations, including the 35th season of the Svátky hudby concert cycle and the 30th anniversary of the Prague Sounds festival.

The Svátky hudby cycle begins on October 20, 2026, at the Rudolfinum's Dvořák Hall. The opening concert features violinist Václav Hudeček, the Prague Philharmonia conducted by Ondřej Vrabec, and vocalists Lucie Kaňková and Daniel Matoušek. The program spans from Mozart and Ravel to operatic works by Verdi, Puccini, and Gounod.

From November 2 to 22, 2026, the Prague Sounds festival celebrates three decades of genre-defying music. A highlight is a four-day residency at the Rudolfinum featuring artists such as Steve Reich, jazz singer Samara Joy, and Anoushka Shankar performing with the Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK). The festival also includes performances by Anna Meredith, Kojey Radical, and various returning artists like Hiromi.
